Low pressure (985mb) lies close to the North of Scotland. High
pressure (two centres of 1030mb) lies over Eastern Europe and close to
Western Spain. Winds across the UK are moderate westerlies, but gales
or severe gales in the north are possible. Most parts will be rather
showery. 850hPa temperatures range from +1C in the northeast and
southeast to -2C in the west. Forecast 2m temperatures range from +9C
in the north and west to +12C in the southeast. Beyond this conditions
remain rather mild and unsettled at times, especially in the north.

moderate southwesterlies, but strong in the northwest. Most southern

with showers. Temperatures will be close to or just above normal in
many parts. Beyond this conditions are rather unsettled with rain or

High pressure (1031mb) lies to to the southeast of the UK over
Europe,with another high (1027mb) close to southwest Spain. A
developing low pressure (997mb) lies to the west of the UK in the
Atlantic. The UK lies under light to moderate south/southwesterly
winds, freshening in the west. Most parts will be mainly dry and
bright, but rain will move into the west. Daytime temperatures will be
close to or just above normal in most areas.

Summary:
A potentially stormy spell is likely towards the end of the week, but
exact details are very uncertain. As we go into the weekend, it looks
set to continue rather mild and unsettled, with rain or showers at
times.
