Default Topkarten - strange goings-on

Hello everybody,
My usual visits to the wetterzentrale/topkarten site in the last few days
have shown some very out-of-date charts. Normally I go straight to the latest
FAX from Bracknell, but tonight it comes up with a chart for 00Z Nov 18, i.e.
42 hours late. A chart for 06Z Nov 19 can be accessed via Metbrief, and the
Archive of Bracknell charts at Topkarten shows one for 00Z Nov 19, i.e. later
than the "latest" from Bracknell as displayed. What's going on? Is my
computer playing up, or have any others had similar problems?

Tudor Hughes, Warlingham, Surrey.

Hello Tudor,

Topkarten looks ok at my end; weather.org.uk is showing the previous issue
96/120 but is otherwise up-to-date. My guess would be you're picking up data
from a cache somewhere, either locally or perhaps at your ISP.

I wonder how long it'll be before Georg Mueller changes "Bracknell" to
"Exeter", I'll have a stab with at least a year, if ever. Perhaps Colin
could tip him off as my German's a bit rusty ?!

Jon.

Same here Jon, all is OK. Maybe the direct link of
http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/bracka.gif will help?

It'll be more than a year before Bracknell's forgotten Jon, most sites
still think there's a Southampton Weather Centre!

That must be it, because a few other sites have been dodgy also. I have
spring-cleaned (sprung-clean?) my Internet Explorer and all now seems OK.
Thanks, Jon.
