... we beat the Aussies in anything! That's good news - perhaps not so OT
as the rain/conditions had a hand now and then ...

Exactly.. to be fair, without him, England wouldn't have made it anywhere
near the finals.. the whole of Englands game revolves around that guy.. he's
damn good

Totally OT - I disagree whole heartedly. Just because he is the nominated
kicker
in the England squad, it doesn't mean we rely on him. Luckily for us though
he is
an "artist" in his field (no puns intended). Martin Johnson led by example
for the
whole tournament, with Neil Back and Lawrence D having great games.
Remember,
for all those penalties to be kicked, drop goal oppurtunities to arise the
other players
have to win the ball or force errors in the first place.

Joe

A game played by _real_ men with peculiarly-shaped balls, not that
other game where when they're not preening themselves in front of the
camera, earning huge salaries or marrying pop stars, they are running
around in wild drunken orgies and ending up arrested or "forgetting"
their drugs tests.

.. ducks and runs ...

must admit I gave over watching football when I fell asleep during a world
cup match back in 1980 something so I must confess to agreeing with your
comments

Your'e right there JPG . Rugby is a game where men grab each other around
the groin area and proceed to finish up with their face embedded in the
opponents "courting tackle"
Then there's the throw in where one man gets his team mates to suspend him
in mid air by grabbing his bottom!
Not of course to forget 'the scrum' where a whole group of men engage in
very tactile contact , grunt and groan and then all collapse exhausted in a
heap. All this to to get their hands on one mans ball!!

They finish this all off by taking their clothes off, all jumping in the
bath whilst getting rapidly inebriated and singing songs of very explicit
sexual content!

Rugby players- real men ehh?
