Default NO Severe Weather

Gary, you've clearly forgotten the number one rule about South Devon
thunderstorms. They never happen if they're predicted!

On looking at BBC Web pages I can see a Weather Warning for S.W. England

of
Severe Weather.
On looking outside my window its raining lightly. So where is it??? er?
where? er?
I don't mind but when I see a warning of "severe weather" and have to

close
my cars sunroof it gets a little annoying when nothing happens.

Shame, Going by the forecast I expected the fireman to be here bailing me
out by now..

Current Weather - Overcast, Raining Lightly! YES LIGHTLY!

*Devil Is In The Detail* Tell me about it!

Replaying the radar, there was some pretty heavy rain drifting NE across
Cornwall/W Devon a few hours back... and still quite a bit of rain over
these parts now.

There was some very heavy rain in Shoreham on Sea this morning as well;
in these situations one place can miss out on the rain when somewhere a
few miles away gets a soaking. The rainfall radar shows a fair amount of
very heavy rain.

Alan

Agree it was heavy but... not severe, nor was it going in the direction
forecasted by bbc , its going straight north west

Well, there's certainly been plenty of rain here in west Cornwall following
a massive thunderstorm around dawn today. It started raining around 0500BST
and hasn't stopped since although it has eased considerably.
Culdrose is currently reporting light rain/drizzle - I'm slightly east of
there and it's what I would call light to moderate rain here.

You should have been in Penzance early this morning. It was about as severe
as it can get. Probably the 2nd worst storm I've ever been in anywhere.
