Default 12Z Model Summary - Friday 28th November 2003

Low pressure (1005mb) lies over Northern France. High pressure
(1035mb) lies in the Atlantic, and with another large high (1035mb)
over Russia. Winds across the country are mostly moderate
northeasterlies in the south, light and variable in the north. Many
southern areas will see rain or showers, but drier in the north.
Temperatures will be close to normal. As we head through next week low
pressure remains close to the southeast for a time bringing rain or
showers here, before high pressure builds in across the country.

High pressure (1035mb) is centred in the Atlantic, with another high
(1035mb) over Russia. Winds across the UK are light to moderate north
or northeasterlies, but light southwesterlies in the northwest. Most
southern parts will see rain or showers, but drier and brighter in the
north. 850hPa temperatures range from -2C in the north to +2C in
central areas. Forecast 2m temperatures range from +6C in the north
+11C across the southeast. Beyond this most southern parts see further
showers well into next week, but pressure tries to build in from the
Atlantic later.

the driest weather in the northwest. Temperatures will be close to

Summary:
After a rather unsettled start to the week in southern and eastern
areas, high pressure looks set to build in from the Atlantic, bringing
fine and settled weather, but probably with fog and some frost at
night.
