Some quite pretty imagery today of the cloud head as it develops.
The low sun angle in the visible image at 1030 shows very nicely how the cloud head emerges from beneath the polar front cloud band: you can see the shadow cast by the PFCB on the lower cloud head in a band along Cornwall- West Wales-Isle of Man and into Scotland. I've put an image he http://www.richarddixon1975.pwp.blue...k/29NovVIS.gif Aside from a 44.2m/s reported in the cold air (?!) to the west of the system (which I assume is erroneous), there are no gusts over 50mph so far. Would be interested to see what sort of gusts we get up to over land as the system reaches its minimum pressure. Cheers Rich |
