Low pressure (1010mb) lies in the Western Med. with other lows towards Greenland. Winds across the country are mostly light and variable. Many parts will be mainly dry with sunny spells, but overnight fog and frost are possible. Temperatures will be close to normal. As we head through to the end of the week pressure remains high across the country, bringing settled conditions but with fog a possible problem. Low pressure (1005mb) lies over Northern Spain, with other lows towards Greenland. Winds across the UK are light to moderate east/northeasterlies in the south, but light and variable elsewhere. Most southern parts will see any showers dying away then joining the rest of the country in becoming settled with overnight fog/ and perhaps frost. 850hPa temperatures are close to +5C in many areas. Forecast 2m temperatures are generally around 9C or 10C. Beyond this high pressure settles to the east of the UK, and draws in rather mild south/southeasterly winds. Winds across the UK are light to moderate northeasterlies. Most parts will see rain or showers, with the driest weather in the northwest. Temperatures will be close to normal. Summary: High pressure looks set to build in across the UK during the midweek period bringing a spell of settled weather for all parts, but with overnight fog and frost possible. As we go towards next weekend, this high looks set to sit to the east of the UK and feeds in rather mild south/southeasterly winds but keeping most parts settled. |
