High pressure (1035mb) lies over Ireland and into the eastern
Atlantic. Low pressure (1005mb) lies in the Western Med. with another
low (980mb) to the northwest of Scandinavia. Winds across the country
are mostly light and variable in direction. Many parts will be mainly
dry with sunny spells, but overnight fog and frost are possible.
Temperatures will be close to normal. As we head through to the end of
the week pressure remains high across the country, bringing settled
conditions but with fog a possible problem.

High pressure (1035mb) is centred over Eastern Europe, with a strong
ridge extending across the UK. Low pressure (1005mb) lies over
Portugal, with another low (960) to the north of Scandinavia. Winds
across the UK are light to moderate easterlies in the south, but light
and variable elsewhere. Most southern parts will see showers die away
then joining the rest of the country in becoming settled with
overnight fog and perhaps frost. 850hPa temperatures are close to +7C
in many areas. Forecast 2m temperatures range from 9C in the north to
12C in the south. Beyond this high pressure remains to the east of the
UK, and draws in rather mild south/southeasterly winds but all areas
remain settled.

Portugal. Winds across the UK are mostly light in the north, but

out as all parts become fine and dry. Temperatures will be close to

UK with little change.

ridge across Britain. Low pressure (1005mb) lies over southwest Spain,

Low pressure (1008mb) lies close to Northern Spain. High pressure
(1033mb) lies in the Atlantic. Winds across the UK are light to
moderate northeasterlies, lightest in the north. Rain or showers will
gradually die out as pressure builds across the UK. Temperatures will
be close to normal.

Summary:
High pressure looks set to become the dominant feature close to the UK
by next weekend, bringing plenty of dry and settled weather, but fog
may well become a problem.
