There's been a complete lack of any proper cold weather here in Penzance so
far this winter. The lowest max was on 5th December, and it still reached 9.0. It did feel cold though in a strong east wind. Today, in the cold? air the temperature reached 10.8. With hazy sunshine and virtually calm conditions it felt very pleasant. I went down to the Battery rocks near Penzance Prom, and there were people swimming without wet-suits. The sea temperature is still 12 degrees. Still we did at least get a few air-frosts back in Jan/Feb. In 2002 there were no air frosts all year. -- Graham Penzance |

I thought it was the Geordies that prided themselves on their hardness! Dave |

Hi Graham,
If it's any consolation, even up here on Dartmoor it's not felt too much like winter either. Last day of snow falling was way back on Oct 22nd, zilch since then, and hardly a frost either. True, quite a few days with maxes in the range 4-6 deg C but today was above normal at 7.4 deg C. Still it's all about to change soon and I expect to see hard frozen ground in the not too distant future. Cheers, Will. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A COL BH site in East Dartmoor at Haytor, Devon 310m asl (1017 feet). mailto: www: http://www.lyneside.demon.co.uk DISCLAIMER - All views and opinions expressed by myself are personal and do not necessarily represent those of my employer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Graham Easterling wrote in message ... I'd rather be wrong by saying it won't happen rather than wrong saying it will. Victor |

Are you getting an invite to Will's ? |
