Hi Brian
Been all rain so far here in Lanarkshire this morning, though I imagine some
higher parts have had sleety mixture at times.
I think we'll need to wait until this evening until it begins to turn white
here.
Gleneagles looks a riot at the moment:

That's more like it!

Temperature was up to 7C a couple hours but has been dipping fairly
quickly - now 4C.

Hi Paul
Temperature now going through the same dip you witnessed as soon as pressure
began to rise.
From 5.2°C one hour ago to 2.0°C now. I'm sure it'll starting to snow in
higher parts of the county now (200m+). I'm hoping this downward trend
continues for another degree or so. Also coming up on the 20mm mark, 2nd
wettest day of the year so far.

Right on cue, snowflakes have arrived only a moment after I clicked the
send button.
Winter at last.

Rain turned to snow here just after we got back from shopping at 1500.
We now have a light covering.

It snowed here from around 3:45pm 'til 9pm, began to settle at around
7:30pm and accumulation was 4cm at best. 6-8cm in higher parts of the area
(Newmains/Shotts). Most roads were very tricky for a while.
A gradual thaw kicked in thereafter and lasted most of the night, with
spells of rain and sleet.
24 hours later, there's still a patchy cover here.

The eventual precip. total of 31mm made it the 2nd wettest day of the year
here. May 30th being the wettest.

Very similar to what happened here. We didn't get the thaw though, the
temp has barely got above freezing since then (min -6.3C last night,
currently -4.4C) so we still have most of the snow lying.

Unfortunately my rain gauge stopped recording at 14.5 mm when the snow
started - I guess I need to look into some form of heating.
