Clear most of the night, though very windy. It's brilliant sunshine all the
way here today and still very windy. It's also a lot colder than yesterday! The wind still looks like its coming from the same direction as yesterday NW ), so prospects of snow here, have literally gone with the wind. Shaun Pudwell, Warden Bay, Isle-of-Sheppey, North Kent. |

I can't totally agree with Martin, here, although I do think the early
predictions were good. But as far as the BBC goes they were still predicting blizzards well inland and spreading into Essex and Kent with major disruption to rush hour traffic. The AA said noone should venture out in East Anglia and Scotland was virtually cut off according to News 24! This was at 1.00 am last night. Well a bunch of amateurs and ex pros on here were looking at the NW winds and the radar tracking the showers on the edge and out to sea and saying it wouldn't happen. Who got 15cm? Maybe Hull and Norwich. They were also showing archive footage of last years snow to try and justify it. I think in the evening the warnings should have been toned down to "mainly right on the coast, some areas will miss it altogether etc". But as you say, that's the media for you. Dave |
