Default Snow

Everybody -

For those who don't have any:

The results of last night's snow at Wallsend, mostly at around 0200 complete
with some single cell TS of the flash - bang - gone variety. Surprising
there havn't been more reports of this from the east coast.

Have it on fairly good authority through personal communication that over 15cms of level snow fell over the North York Moors last night with a few drifts of nearly a metre - more than the warnings would have implied.

What about "Chance of heavy snow showers for extreme coastal areas, with up
to 6" or more on North York Moors" instead of the general, sensational
warnings we got.

Too specific and misleading - even after the event. Just 2cm of snow in the
York area resulted in very treacherous conditions on the many untreated
roads and pavements.
