Large area of precipitation covers most of England and Wales as 2004
begins - snow on high ground in the north. It moves east overnight and is
confined to the extreme SE by Thursday morning with areas of showers
following over western Scotland, NW England and the Midlands. Outbreaks of
rain and showers in the west and NW and in SE England during Thursday become
only scattered by mid-afternoon but further showers develop in NW England
and the Midlands in the evening.
