![]() Up until now it's been a mild and very gentle winter down here in Penzance. The strongest gust so far this Autumn / Winter being only 51mph (so far!) which is very unusual. Only 11 days have failed to reach 10 degrees centigrade since 1st October, the coldest day saw a max of 8.1 degrees. As a result there are not just a few daffodils out, which is the norm for January down here, but whole areas are in full bloom. See www.easterling.freeserve.co.uk/temp1101.html for a photo taken today. Of course it's all changing now. 18mm rain last night, another 14mm so far since 09:00. We've just had a thunderstorm with large hail and some quite violent gusts.
