Winds across the country are light to moderate southerlies, veering west/northwesterly in the southwest. Most areas will see a lot of cloud with some rain, and perhaps snow in the north. GFS: SLP: http://www.wetterzentrale.com/pics/Rtavn961.html 850hPa Temperatures: http://www.wetterzentrale.com/pics/Rtavn962.html 2m Temperatures: http://www.wetterzentrale.com/pics/Rtavn965.html Low pressure (990mb) lies to the southeast of Iceland, with another centre (990mb) over Eastern Poland. High pressure (1025mb) lies over and to the west of Spain. Winds across the country are mostly light to moderate west/northwesterlies. Many areas will see some rain or showers - perhaps wintry in the north. Temperatures will be close to normal. Beyond this conditions remain unsettled for a time before high pressure tries to build in across the UK from the southwest before heading towards Scandinavia. NOGAPS: SLP: http://www.wetterzentrale.com/pics/Rngp961.html 850hPa Temperatu http://www.wetterzentrale.com/pics/Rngp962.html Low pressure (985mb) lies northern Scandinavia, with secondary centres (995mb and 1000mb)) close to northern Britain. High pressure (1025mb) lies to the west of Spain, with another high (1035mb) to the north of Greenland. Winds across the country are mostly light and rather variable in direction. Most parts will see some rain or showers - wintry in places. 850hpa temperatures range from -7C in the northeast to -2C in the south. Temperatures will generally be close to or just below normal. JMA: SLP: http://www.wetterzentrale.com/pics/Rjma961.html 850hPa Temperatures: http://www.wetterzentrale.com/pics/Rjma962.html Low pressure (985mb) lies between Iceland and Scandinavia, with a secondary low (1000mb) over Poland. High pressure (1025mb) lies to the west of Spain, with another high (1040mb) to the north of Greenland. Winds across the country are mostly light and from a westerly direction. Most parts will see some rain or a few showers - wintry in the north. 850hpa temperatures range from -7C in the northeast to -1C in the southwest. Temperatures will be close to or just below normal. Beyond this high pressure builds to the south, allowing much milder Atlantic air in with most of the unsettled conditions in the northwest. Canadian – T+72 hours for FRIDAY: All charts: http://weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/data/m...ast/478_50.gif Low pressure (976mb) lies just to the east of England. High pressure (1021mb) lies to the southwest of Spain in the Atlantic. Winds across the country are mainly moderate to fresh north/northwesterlies. Rain will clear the east, to leave all parts under a mixture of sunshine and wintry showers, whilst temperatures will be close to or just below normal. Summary: There are fairly strong indications from the models tonight that high pressure will build to the south of the UK over the weekend and into early next week, allowing most areas to turn more settled, but much milder as southwesterly winds become established. The only exception is the DWD model, which builds high pressure in across the country before settling over Scandinavia. However, this seems to be a clear outlier when compared to the other models. |
