That huge mass of red over Russia is hurting my eyes.

Having said that, just recorded my first air frost of the month
today at -2.0C.

You MAY be a little premature in your dismissals! If the GFS 312 hour forecast
at www.wetterzentrale.de pans out, then we're in for a REAL cold snap from the
east - particularly in the south (a la Feb 1986) as it predicts an 850mB temp of
between -12 & -14C with biting east winds! This last happened in that cold snap
in Feb 1991 and for longer in Feb 1986 as well as that killer cold snap in
mid-Jan 1987.

I wait with baited breath!!
