Thundery activity started at 1845Z. Rumbled on here for about two and a half
hours with mainly CC. Not much rain however. Storm now to NE of here but NE
horizon still lighting up, impressively, every 10 seconds or so. (10 minutes
ago)

I think the storm your talking about was the one which travelled East of
here past Stratford area and then went up into Essex.

Got some good video footage of the lightning which needs editing when I have
time.

All quiet here now with just light rain.

George.
Here in Basildon sky came over very dark at about 20:30 and could see
lightning flashing frequently to the northwest. The storm then seemed to
move east and was quickly followed from the south by another storm. This
time with our name on it, this produced a burst of very heavy rain with
frequent CG lightning.
Thirty minutes later all was calm with just the odd flash to the northeast.
All seemed to be fairly fast moving.
