Cloud circling round the low pressure area over the north of the Netherlands
extends across the North Sea to eastern England but much of the rest of
Britain is quite sunny. Snow cover visible over the Scottish mountains.
Netherlands mainly cloudy but the western half of Belgium is quite bright.

Wintry showers over NE England become confined to the coastal fringe by
Saturday morning. They move further inland again during the morning and
move SE into eastern England and East Anglia in the afternoon with sleet in
places. Rain moves into Cornwall during the night but makes little
progress further NE and dies out by midday.

Lossiemouth 6 mm, Kinloss, Albemarle (near Newcastle) and Bridlington 7 mm,
