For those of you who are that way inclined:

I am playing around with making a small WAP site (called Squint Weather)
for my mobile phone that lets you view the latest weather data from
anywhere. I'm only really doing this for my own personal use, but I
thought that there may be some other people out there who could be
interested...

Its just a simple site with a few links to the latest radar and
satellite images (from other sources) and to other sites containing
METAR and TAFS.

I know it works on my phone (a Sony Ericsson T610), but I have no clue
if it will work on any other type of phone...

(for those of you with a T610 -download the image then view it in My
Pictures)

The images are obviously small (tiny actually...) but are enough to give
you an idea of what is going on...

PS. I am looking for sources of other small (thumbnail) current images
to use (satellite, analysis plots, model output etc.) -so if you know
of any then please let me know!

Hi steve nice usefull site you have put togeather there and most of it works
on my nokia 6350
the only problem i seem to have is it refuses to display the bbc radar
images and the
ir images yet the MetO radar image works fine ?! and crosslinking to
XCWeather and
the TAF/METAR sites is handy

-that's odd... I'm not sure what's happening there.

Also, I should have said that I expect that most of the links will only
work on newer phones that have colour screens...

Still I'd be interested to hear from anyone else who gets it to work...

Thanks for the feedback.
-The MetO radar image is a .gif file, the BBC ones are all .jpg. It's
most likely that your phone can display .gif, but not .jpg . I'll see if
I can find any small thumbnail satellite .gif images for you.

Same problem here Nick on a Samsung S300 on O2.

Thats whats odd about it my phone DOES display .jpg images the camera in it
saves in .jpg format
but the error message i got wasent helpfull it just stated it couldent
display the image ?? oh well

I have a T610 and all works fine.
