Default CAPE & Heavy Snow Showers/Polar Lows

Once the real stuff gets going next week and the guessing and waiting on
where the best instability and therefore snow showers or better will occur,
I just wondered whether these charts, normally reserved for different types
of severe weather in summer will be of any use in that prediction?

Will Polar Lows be more likely to form in packets of air where the CAPE is
higher/lifted index lower? Will it even show on there?

The last time we had a proper Northerly, I wasn't aware of the existence of
this data online.
