Perhaps their server cant cope with the surge of hits relating to next week's weather?

I thought these things happen on Thursdays.

Remember Arthur Dent who woke up on a Thursday and discovered a bulldozer aiming for his house?

Maybe I have an odd sense of humour but when I looked at the Severe
Weather Warnings page I burst out laughing when I saw the banner at the
top of the page saying

"Now you can play Lotto online"

immediately above the "UK Severe Weather Warnings" title. I hope it
doesn't refer to the contents of the page

I'm not sure that the severe weather warnings page is an appropriate
slot for carrying advertising. Better for that page to be played
absolutely straight.

It's good to see a formal warning out this far in advance of the
possible event. The wording of the warning conveys the present
uncertainty of the detail very well. Full marks to the Met Office.
