Will, I can't find an exceptionally severe weather report on the Met Office
site. Is it still there? Victor FROM TUESDAY ONWARDS, ESPECIALLY IN THE EAST WHERE THERE IS A 30 PERCENT RISK OF EXCEPTIONALLY SEVERE CONDITIONS WITH ACCUMULATIONS OF MORE THAN 15CM. DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED AND SOME UNTREATED ROADS ARE LIKELY TO BECOME IMPASSABLE. I think the 100mph winds forecast for South-East a few weeks back was 40% risk - so don't believe the above too much. Tom Danbury, Essex (107m) |

![]() Martin Rowley wrote "morning with more than usual interest for Bob Prichard's assessment (I assume it was Bob - have yet to hear him this morning). Instead, we got 'wall-to-wall' tennis: yet again, Tim Henman being knocked out of a major competition. Martin. Fate can throw up strange permutations and in this case odd bed fellows. Henman and severe cold weather? Tim Henman winning a grand-slam and bitter arctic air dumping lots of snow over the bulk of Britain? Nah!!! It'll never happen. Now about that roof on Wimbledon in the face of predicted drier summers. |

![]() "Martin Rowley" wrote in message ... With the change to a notable wintry type expected (whether snow-laden or not, a significant change), I was listening to Radio 5 this morning with more than usual interest for Bob Prichard's assessment (I assume it was Bob - have yet to hear him this morning). Instead, we got 'wall-to-wall' tennis: yet again, Tim Henman being knocked out of a major competition. Acting as a 'devil's advocate', I think I would be very annoyed if a major tennis match was interupted at a possibly interesting point. The interval between sets is less than 5 minutes so the beginning of the next set would be missed. With weather bulletins and updates abounding on many other sources, this Radio 5 presentation must be something special for its absence to cause problems. ( confession..I've never heard it!!) Rubbish, I listened to the commentary on the Liverpool v Newcastle FA cup tie in my car this evening on a perfectly ordinary analogue car radio. Five live broadcasts on Medium Wave, not even VHF FM, let alone digital. -- Created on the Iyonix PC - the new RISC OS computer. |

The comment was regarding "Five Live Sports Extra", which is a digital radio, Sky/NTL digital and internet station. Five Live is what you were listening to, I suspect. -- Dave |
