Default [WR] Mod/heavy rain out of nowhere! Solent.

Wow, where did THAT come from?

Set out in mt car at 21:58. At 22:00pm precisely it started to rain.
Within minutes it was moderate to heavy - heavy enough to make you
want to run from a car parked at the kerbside to the house. It's
continous now, moderate to heavy after 25 minutes.

AND it barely shows up at all on the 2200 radar - you really have to
look hard to see anything - in fact the radar return are filling the
Solent and the rain seems to be jumping Eastwards along the South
Coast. Still 4 degrees, mod/heavy rain. Amazing.

Hi Dave,

I noticed these heavy showers along the S coast, sticking rigidly
to the coastline. I'd hazard a guess at low level convergence
releasing the potential instability evident on the 12z 03882 sounding.

Fasinating to see them apparently jump like this, I see they've
reached Hastings already!
