The next 14 days - 26 Jan to 8 Feb, Issued 25/1/2004
Headline: Wintry ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Monday Northern areas will have a cold and showery day. Showers will increasingly turn to snow and become heavy in places. The south will be drier with sunny spells in the morning. During the afternoon and evening cloud will build and there is an increasing chance of some rain or sleet. In the evening and overnight this is expected to turn increasingly to snow. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Tuesday A very cold day with widespread sleet or snow showers that are likely to be heavy in places. During the day accumulations of snow are likely to build up in places, especially over northern hills. Snow showers continuing overnight. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Wednesday Another very cold day with heavy and widespread sleet or snow showers. These are likely to merge together to produce prolonged spells of sleet or snow in central and eastern areas. In the west rain or sleet is possible over lower ground, with snow falling over the hills. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Thursday Another cold day with a mixture of sunshine and snow showers. Showers are likely to be heaviest and most widespread in the east. Further west it is likely to remain dry in many places. Severe overnight frost developing. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Friday Confidence is low, but we are expecting milder air to begin pushing in from the west. As it does so, frontal systems may bring some snowfall for a time. In western parts any snow is likely to quickly turn back to rain. Probably remaining cold in the east. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Weekend Milder air in the west is likely to push eastwards and north turning snow back to rain. However, there is a chance of heavy snowfall in places for a time. Areas most at risk are eastern and northern parts. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Week 2 It looks as though a return to milder and less settled conditions is the most likely outcome. However, there is a significant chance that colder air will push back south across the UK and bring further wintry conditions. Source: TWO. My Comment: Seems like another attempt maybe made at another cold spell. It's only a chance though. -- ************************************************** ************************** ************************************************** * Gavin Staples. website updated regularly www.gavinstaples.com For the latest lecture in the Darwin Lecture Series in Cambridge, please click on my site, and then click on the Darwin Lecture series link. If the confidence is low for friday. How the **** can they predict the
second week. That's what i dont get about the long range weather forecasts. Honestly you can not accurately predict the weather for more than 5 days ahead. Its just impossible. -- Thanks Regards M C Yates http://www.myfootballforum.com "Gavin Staples" wrote in message ...
