The snow's just arrived here, quite light so far. I gather there's a
heavier band due later this evening, a severe weather warning has been issued. Temp -0.9C, wind 10mph W. -- Steve Loft Wanlockhead, Dumfriesshire. 1417ft ASL http://www.wanlockhead.org.uk/weather/ |

Well the first batch of snow went through here very quickly. Very light
snow for around 15 minutes and then about 5 minutes of moderate snow. As a consequence we're left with something between a dusting and nothing on the ground. That front is sure in a hurry southwards - blink and you'll miss it. Can't see many showers getting through to the central lowlands on a northerly later, I'll gladly be proved wrong though. Alex. We did have a little bit of snow on the ground already, so we now have about half a cm cover in total. -- Steve Loft Wanlockhead, Dumfriesshire. 1417ft ASL http://www.wanlockhead.org.uk/weather/ |

Something for the folk further south too take note of perhaps...
There seems to be a warm sector on the western side of this feature, and it's currently giving a sleety drizzle here. All areas east of me and at a comparable altitude seem to be receiving only snow. While all areas west seem to be getting rain. I guess that mean there's a cold front yet to pass through here in the next short while. Radar is showing something comparable. Currenly about 1cm of slush lying here now. Alex. "Steve Loft" wrote in message ... Alex Stephens Jnr wrote: Well the first batch of snow went through here very quickly. Let's hope it occludes out as it sinks S, models must be indicating this given all the snowy TAFs around. ATB, Joe -- Manchester, M13 0FZ |
