Celebrating this momentous occasion (I dont remember seeing this much snow
for at least a couple of years), and I wanted to play with my camera too...

Nice pics! It's just starting to snow again here. Current temp 1.8C and falling,
with an inch of snow on the ground.

Paul.

Hi both,

Just been out on Oxford Road, awash with students having snowball fights.
About an inch has fallen, turned to snow pellets towards the end. An
horrific morning if this all ices over now under clearing skies.

Joe

Does that mean the roads haven't been gritted then? I'm heading into Manchester
tomorrow morning - I wonder if the Metrolink will actually work this time...

Paul.

It'll all slush on the roads, I think they have been gritted as the snow
was all grainy and wet when picked from the road. Wind has now veered to a
more N direction so temperature should start dropping away.

The temperature's beginning to rise here - currently at 3.3C, with a slight thaw
in the snow. The resulting slush, if it freezes overnight will be problematic in
the morning - I can imagine the neighbours getting up around four in the morning
to set off for work early.

Paul.
