Default Snow depths and satellite imagery

Dear All

Do the 06z SYNOP reports give snow depth? If so, if anyone can compile these
depths, I'd be interested to see. And if there are any good visible images
of the snow extent that come along today, please post on here (Bernard?!)

Light snow around 2am here (London, SW20) last night around when I turned
in, must have only lasted for a short while or melted as very little about
here this morning.

Cheers
Richard

See the FAQ at:....

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/booty.w.../FAQ/8.htm#8.3

So, in this example from Manchester ....
333 21023 3/107 43003 83361=

The depth is 3cm, and the character is "Even layer of compact or wet
snow covering the ground completely".

Richard, the snow depths should be available (extracted from the SYNOPs)
on www.weatheronline.co.uk
