Had to drive into the city during the worst of the snow, flakes the size of
dinner-plates(!) started falling after a brief period of rain. The temperature dropped from ps02 to ms01 on the car thermometer during this time as the snow became lighter and powdery. Now about 3 or 4 cm lying. Basically the city has now ground to halt, nearly everywhere grid-locked, cars facing the wrong way on roundabouts etc. SNAFU JPG |

Did you hear any thunder? Would appreciate confirmation that it wasn't a pupil moving his desk!!!! -- Steve Jackson, Bablake Weather Station, Coventry, UK http://www.netlink.co.uk/users/bws |

I didn't actually see any lightning or hear any thunder but it was definitely about as reported by other people. I went back to work at Westwood, tried to leave at 1715 but the roads in Canley and the University of Warwick area were totally gridlocked and I finally got home to Kenilworth at 1900. 1 hr 45 mins to go 4 miles. Now MS3.7 at Kenilworth. JPG |
