Dave, there's an old/expired flash warning at the top of the BBC site.
The Advanced Warning below is correctly dated Fri 30th.

did the notification of changes to the warning system which flashed on
and off the web site yesterday, too quickly to take in, have any general
public interest ?

Phil, I'm not sure which two nasty features you mean ! Assuming you mean
the lows to the north, then no. It's a result of developments currently
around 25W. The prog shows the expected, somewhat complex, situation at
0600Z tomorrow http://imkpc3.physik.uni-karlsruhe.de/pics/brack0.gif
