Something white has started to build up on the glassware of the cars
after approximately 24hrs of rain. Temperature started to fall quite rapidly about 1430 with the very occasional sleety bit hitting the windows an hour later. Definate sleet by 1600. Wind has started to pick up from nothing at 1200 to F5 by 1700, sounds as if it might be F6 by now (1745). Temp was around 4C at 1430 now 0.3C. 32mm(*) of rain since midnight, on top of the 6mm rain and snow melt yesterday. Everywhere is sodden, water is pouring of fells, look out below there is a lot of water coming your way. (*) Probably more, though at 3 or 4mm/hr (peak 7mm/hr) rate it has been falling my AWS gauge might not be to bad. -- Cheers Dave. pam is missing e-mail |

Temperature is now 1.5C after falling steadily from16Z, wind NNW F5. Heavy rain & snow falling, so snow with you I would think. I don't think it will get much colder now. 24hr total 32.5mm. Just a cm but with the temp at 0C or just above very slowly thawing, it's slipping down the side windows of the cars but still intact on the windscreens. Wind has dropped to nothing since just before 1900, it is very still out there but I have a suspicion that the anemometer might have frozen. 35mm of rain since midnight, 6mm yesterday. Why did it have to get warm? 40cm of snow would have been great. B-) I really do want to take a picture and be able to say see that lump over there, thats our house... It has been like that up here in the past, 10' lying, having to walk along the line of the tops of the drystone walls etc. -- Cheers Dave. pam is missing e-mail |
