Default 12Z Model Summary - Monday 09th February 2004

High pressure (1035mb) lies over England and much of Central Europe.
Low pressure (970mb) lies in the Atlantic to the west of Iceland.
Winds across England mostly light and variable, but light
south/southwesterlies towards the north and west. Most areas will be
fine and dry. Temperatures will be close to or just above normal.
Beyond this there is little change as high pressure sits over much of
the UK, although perhaps turning more unsettled in the west later.

much of Central and Western Europe. Low pressure (975mb) lies close to
northwest Iceland, with another low (995mb) to the west of the UK in
the Atlantic. Winds across the country are light to moderate
south/southwesterlies. Most parts will be mainly dry and fine. 850hpa
temperatures are close to +2C in many areas. Forecast 2m temperatures
range from +9C in the east to +11C in the west. Beyond this conditions
are fairly mild, with some unsettled weather moving into the northwest
as high pressure slips away southeast.

Europe. Low pressure (960mb) lies to the southwest of Iceland in the
Atlantic. Winds across the country are light to moderate
south/southwesterlies, strongest in the northwest. Most areas will be
mainly dry and fine. 850hpa temperatures range from -1C in the north
to +3C in the south. Temperatures will be close to or just above
normal in most parts. Beyond this conditions are rather mild but turn
somewhat more unsettled in the northwest later.

(976mb) lies well to the west/northwest of Britain. Winds across the
country are mainly light to moderate west/southwesterlies. Many areas
will see a fine day with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will be
close to or just above normal in many areas.

Summary:
Models continue to show a mostly settled week ahead with a lot of dry
and bright weather, and only a possibility of the northwest seeing any
unsettled weather by next weekend. Temperatures will mostly be on the
mild side.
