Default Wave cloud today

There's some fascinating wave cloud to be seen around the British Isles
on the following image:

Of particular note are the extensive waves in the lee of St. Kilda.

There are also some interesting waves off SW Ireland. There seem to be two
wavelengths, with the shorter just visible off the coast and then hidden
further west by longer waves.

Some very short waves are just visible over N Wales, the Lake District and
the Southern Uplands. I think today's MODIS image will show a large amount
of this intricate detail.

In fact it doesn't show the waves too well. What can be seen though is
some desert dust in the relatively cloudfree areas just west and north east
of Scotland.

The SKIRON site shows this position for the dust quite well.
