Default 12Z Model Summary - Friday 13th February 2004

High pressure (1030mb) lies over much of Northwestern Britain and
ridges across much of Europe. Low pressure (970mb) lies over Southern
Greenland, with another low (1010mb) over the Azores Winds across the
UK are mostly very light north/northeasterlies. Most areas will be
mainly dry, but with variable amounts of cloud. Temperatures will be
close to normal. Beyond this conditions are settled with high pressure
close to the UK, before drifting northeast towards Scandinavia and
allowing potentially colder easterly winds later.

lies over Greenland, with another low (1005mb) to over Scandinavia.
Winds across the country are light and variable. Most parts will be
mainly dry, but cloud amounts will vary. 850hpa temperatures range
from -4C in the northeast to 0C in the southwest. Forecast 2m
temperatures range from +8C in the northeast to +10C in the southwest.
Beyond this conditions are fairly mild, and remain quiet and settled
with the high slowl drifting southeastwards.

of Greenland. Winds across the country are light and variable in most
places. Most areas will see mostly dry and fine conditions, but
variable cloud amounts. 850hpa temperatures range from -2C in the
north to -5C over Central England. Temperatures will be close to
normal. Beyond this conditions remain very similar with little change,
although high pressure later ridges towards Scandinavia introducing
colder winds into the southeast.

Southern Greenland, with a secondary low (995mb) in the Atlantic.

areas will be mainly dry and fine, but with a lot of cloud about.

High pressure (1034mb) lies to the west of Britain in the Atlantic.
Low pressure (972mb) lies close to Greenland, with another low (996mb)
in the Atlantic. A shallow low (1019mb) lies close to Southwest
England. Winds across the country are mainly light and variable. Many
areas will be fine but with variable amounts of cloud, and perhaps
some showers in the southwest. Temperatures will be close to normal in
many areas.

Summary:
A mostly quiet and settled outlook again tonight with high pressure
dominating. There are a few signs that some cold continental air may
make it into eastern areas, but confidence on this is very low.
