I checked out the Wetterzentrale's NWP synoptic chart for today - Thursday,
and scrolled across to see a deep Atlantic low hitting the Canary Islands. Checked this evening , westernmost La Palma must have seen the cold front, with Nlies, whilst still SWlies (unusually) on the other islands. Should top up the water supply a bit! Earlier on I was visiting Tenerife and there was an interesting bit of weather; 4-5 Febraury daytime max were reaching 28C at sea level: 26C a very. rough recording at 500m in the north, near Tacoronte (3m from North airport). The nights and mornings there were characterised with a very strong easterly, and poor visibilty. Interestingly elsewhere there did not seem to be the same strength of wind, maybe a Tenerife Helm Wind, with some extra Algerian dust? Dorian |
