Just to say I'm blown away by the wit of this group! I have loved the
ideas and often fallen about laughing with the brilliance of the ideas -
so many thanks for all who've contributed to the thread.

The wife suggested a thread on the lines of the 'I'm sorry I haven't a
clue' prog.

One for starters:

Mr and Mrs Thanitwasyesterday and their dismal daughter, Claudia
Thanitwasyesterday

Any more?

...and fresh from a 1-0 win at the weekend, Vorti City.

Jon.

It's off topic, but I can't resist mentioning the name of a girl at my

I once knew a very nice bloke whose parents had called "Wayne King" and
went to school with a Pete Green During the school assembly roll-call, he
had to put his hand up to: "Green P." which never failed to amuse someone
or other.

I then went to college with a Peter Sweet!

- Tom.

- Tom.

I know someone who went to school with someone with the surname Darcy and
the initials RC; no prizes fro guessing what he was called by his peers. I
have also seen the name House associated with the initial P in a cricket
scorebook.

Annette Kerton went to my school.

Nice to see some foreigners have made it to the Ball.

There's the gangly Dutchman, Week Rij, with his Norwegian
mistress, always has a cold but likes to get going in the
morning, that's Nord Early Flo. No sign of the French
however, they always get the day wrong, and arrive on Lundy.
Nice to see Denis Norden tonight, he's just come straight
from presenting All Wight on the Night.

Getting back to the Ball. I hear the Ministry Of Defence, next door, are
getting annoyed about the level of noise from the Ball and have been
measuring the decibel levels. . Look out here's a telegram from them : MOD
IRATE TO INCREASING HIGH PRESSURE.

The rumpus is due to a huge fracas at the bar... Apparently they have run out
of Lager and Bitter.

The manager was last seen flying through a window exclaiming, "I told you...
at least there will be Mild"
