Hallo everyone.

The etesians have slowed down and thunderstorms now develop over more
continental areas of the country. A blocking high has already started
developing over eastern Scandinavia / NW Russia, leading to a setup similar
to that of late 2002 summer. Most forecasting models now agree that a closed
low in the middle troposphere should affect our weather, bringing heavy
thunderstorms -primarily- over continental areas, Athens included -for a
change. This should give end to the already 32 days long dry spell, which is
not abnormal for the capital at this time of the year.
It is interesting to see the precipitation forecast charts, as they show the
thunderstorms develop and decay through the day:
