There seems to be something developing over the South East corner according
to the latest radar - certainly the winds have picked up signifigantly from
the North West here, but unfortunatley there appears to be some warmer air
being dragged in as the temperature is already at 3C and rising - any ideas?

Yes, not just "slightly" warmer air either - look at the trace at Norwich:-

5 AM (10) Feb 27 39 (4)
4 AM (9) Feb 27 35 (2)
3 AM (8) Feb 27 33 (1)
2 AM (7) Feb 27 35 (2)
1 AM (6) Feb 27 32 (0)

The snow was already turning to rain at 7am, and the last two showers
here in Swaffham were all rain.

Interesting - still 0°C and moderate snow showers here at Ely - 25
miles SW of Swaffham at 1100.GMT.

LOL - I read the NOAA figures as 10/04 09/02 etc, inferring 10 deg C as
the air temperature and dew point of 4 deg C.

Joe

PS You can obtain METAR obs on that link upto 240hrs (10 days) old, just
change the DELT syntax to how many hours you would like

I can't be sure but it may be that the Chenies radar is conflicting with one
of the adjacent continental ones. The erroneous circular pattern is similar
to glitches that have occurred in the past.
