Flurries of snow turning to rain about 1800
Then clear sky By 1945: No wind at ground level - marked high-level wind. Moon seen through high mackerel sky streaming from ENE or ExN No precipitation. Sort of fits approach conveyor belt of short cold fronts from E on BBC chart for tomorrow. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/ukweather/pressure.shtml except that it doesn't feel particularly cold outside. Lack of wind, no doubt. Metcheck forecast for now-ish [2100] 11mph from NW - actual, zero at 2030. So unlike an Atlantic low that the structure is unfamiliar and puzzling. -- Peter Thomas |
