![]() "Daniel" wrote in message om... according to this http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?world=7&links Very strange. Using Newcastle as an example, Monday is going to be 27deg C according to the BBC, yet the MO are offering 17deg C. Also according to TWO tomorrow will reach 35deg C here. I take it that they are going off different models? Or are they just not putting the effort in to it ATM? JO |

Hmm, don't know about 35C for Jersey, but Channel coast and SE will
definately get some very hot weather. GFSENS T+132 shifts the 20C iso-t at 850mbar pretty close to Jersey, but the sea should have some cooling effect. http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da...sens/t850.html However, pretty impressive A-Hi building up with good to moderate confidence - even a bit uncanny - IF the models stick up with it over the next few runs. Summer really seems to put all eggs in one basket. Interesting.... Eric www.weatheronline.co.uk |

In article ,

They looked at four sources of forecasts, and the three produced other than by the Met Office's own people on Jersey were pretty poor. -- John Hall "Three o'clock is always too late or too early for anything you want to do." Thats odd theres seems to be TWO for Jersey. One showing more realistic temperature figures and the other, Jersey, United Kingdom obviously too stupid for words. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=2293&links http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?world=7&links |

![]() Well after a further update, they numbers still look daft - I'll believe it when I see the 'actual' numbers reported .The Jersey United Kingdom version http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?world=7&links is the same as BBC text P406 on the tele' as are others on the web = to BBC P406 - that reminds me, a few years ago, erroneous numbers appearing on BBC text page and a friend contacted the BBC about it - the outcome was, these F/Casts are system genrated - no human intervention/verification. The problem was that in a system look-up table, the pointers were pointing to the wrong place, thus giving 'mickey mouse' F/Cast . Still showing 38c for Tuesday after the update . cheers JRM On Sat, 2 Aug 2003 02:08:39 +0100, "Centaur" wrote: "JRM - Alresford Hants" wrote in message .. .
