![]() "Lawrence Jenkins" wrote in message .com... Alastair. Very briefly. "He and ex-preacher Christy ". What are you trying to infer. Right wing fundamentalism? How about the satellites, what denomination are they? I was inferring that Christy's position is based on his belief of a loving God who cares for his people. Many of these people are Americans so it is impossible for their world to be turned into a living hell. Of course you do not need to be a right wing fundamentalist to feel that a living hell is an impossibility. Most people do not understand that level of CO2 controls the greenhouse effect which is mainly due to water vapour. More CO2 causes the oceans to warm. They evaporate more water and the water vapour causes an even greater greenhouse effect. If doubling CO2 leads to a doubling of the total greenhouse effect, then we are in for a rise of 33C! What are your grounds for believing that can't happen? Do you still think Roy Spencer is right when he says we should not worry? Cheers, Alastair. |

![]() "Keith Dancey" wrote in message ... In article , "Lawrence Jenkins" writes: How about the satellites... You know nothing about remote sensing of temperature, and nor does Spencer or Christy, who are abusers of data, not providers. But I do: I have worked directly on four space missions devoted to remote sensing. It is simply not possible to resolve the signal from the noise with such a short temporal baseline. Concerning the categorising of the tropical storm in the South Atlantic: deriving windspeeds (itself an approximation) from remotely sensed temperatures (another approximation) and finding a narrow fit places doubt upon the conclusion. I think categorsiation needs collaborative evidence. Cheers, keith Well I'm sure the more learned members will look foward to reading your critique of accrued satellite data.
