First decent Thunder for a while here this afternoon, numerous claps and
flashes all around - moderate hail code 5/6 giving a temp covering. Also - Alston area, Cumbria - heavy hail shower then turned to snow giving a covering above 1500ft. ( 1530hrs ) Further report of a huge hail storm towards Garrigill, Alston depth on the road of over 2" causing several minor accidents. ( 1600hrs ) -- Paul Crabtree Brampton N.E. Yesterday 5th April - initial Snow line was about 2,400 in other words the tops of Crossfell, Great Dun Fell, (1100hrs) the snow that fell from the shower fell down to approx 1700ft ( 1530hrs) I.m not up there today, fells currently covered in cloud on my side, in steady rain temp +5c, suggests snowfall again on the tops Paul "Joe Hunt" wrote in message ... MetO F215 is going for 1200-1500ft, but anything to lie woud be a bit above that. A colder pool of air over us today so some more fun and games with showers. Taking a trip from here to Cleveleys today, A50 then M6 then M55, should be some nice views towards Lancashire. Joe -- Wymeswold, Leicestershire |
