Hi everybody,

just wanted to note that we have made our UK 15-minute rainfall images
freely available for a limited time period. We will introduce an
extended subscription based service within the coming weeks.

This trial is part of the site implementation process. Comments - as
usual - highly welcome.

But without the pop-ups and cookies, it wouldn't be free.

You can always pay a subscription to the Met Office to avoid (what I readily
agree) are annoying pop-ups.

I can live with them, except that really irritating one that sometimes
appears at the bottom and continually giggles around telling me that I have
won some prize or other.

Eric. That one really is most irritating. Any chance of making it a static
image so it doesn't cause incipient epilepsy?

Excellent, didn't know there was an update to that facility.

Thanks

Not always. I use the Google popup blocker, but that irritating prize
winning one still gets through.

That's 'coz it's actually part of the page and doesn't live in its own
window.

Alternatively, check out a different browser. Mozilla is totally free
and in my opinion is much better than Internet Explorer. It includes
popup and cookie management (so you could enable popups from certain
[annoying] sites that need them and ignore from the rest). Check out
mozilla.org

I have been using Mozilla Firefox for amount a month or so and I agree it is
far better than Internet Explorer.

One little problem. I can't find any "synchronization" facility. Maybe it
is available as an add-on
