I was referring to France (though interesting to find it used in Greece too); I was recently there and in Perpignan there was a strong, cold wind blowing NW-ly that everyone was calling 'tramontane', with a clear sky. That French site was just what I was after- it looks like a local name in that area, interested to learn that it precedes the mistral further east. |
