Default [WR] Friday: Warmest day of 2004 so far at Bracknell-Tawfield

Looks like our day maximum is going to be 18.4degC ... just beating the
18.1degC on 31st March. Very pleasant out there for the gardening ...
but we *do* need some rain; with Dew Points around 4degC, and a steady
wind running, the newly broken soil is drying rapidly - and in sheltered
parts of the garden (which would normally be damp at this time of year),
there is no notable 'dampness' available.

Hi Martin,

I'm glad someone else has noted this, I found it very odd that we struggled
to dig a small, in depth, but long trench on Easter Monday in the garden to
lay some armoured cable. Given the forecast of what could easily be
explained as a cyclonic southerly, I am sure we will not have problems come
this time next week.

Max 19.2c at Guildford - warmest day of the year by 0.1c !

Just been for an hours cycle ride around Horsley, Ripley and Burpham in
almost cloudless skies. Absolutely Great!

Very different here Martin.
Max 10.0 deg C today and 5.9 mm rain.
Yep we could do with a drop more rain just 50.8 mm here so far this month !
Grass now growing like fury and daffodils and other Spring bulbs are a treat.
Trees should come into leaf soon and the cherry blossom is starting to swell.

Same country - different world.

Ah but the SE may only get patchy rain unless some are lucky enough to get a
heavy shower. Further west and north should get plenty though.

Gave the mower its annual service and then mowed the lawn - between bits of
work. Pleasant outside but getting a bit uncomfortable indoors. The aircon
went on for the first time this year.

.... yes indeed: as of 07GMT, 7mm of welcome rain. A steady fall from
about 22Z yesterday evening - the garden has 'woken-up' and although it
is a gloomy old morning, everything seems fresh and alive out there
first thing. We do need quite a bit more though - 10mm could fall and
given the high (potential) evaporation rates at this time of year, it
would soon be 'lost' (except in the water butt, which is nicely full!)

Martin.
