David, I must admit to not having seen the radar pics for a while now, but certainly from personally seeing one of the June 7th, 96 storms, it had an appearence of a supercell (in S Oxforshire) with a beaver's tail, wall cloud and mid-level striations. The latter event certainly ended up being an MCS, but the individual cells may well have been supercellular. The former, I believe, definately had several discrete supercells as several severe hailstorms occurred in much different areas, before the storms eventually congealed. This often occurs in the US as well, with disrete supercells eventually forming either into an MCS or a squall line, depending on how strong the upper forcing is, and what orientation the wind shear is i.e. unidirectional or veered shear.
