Default Large positive N Atlantic SST anomaly

Had a look today at the FNOC site - OTIS SST anomaly page:

https://152.80.49.210/PUBLIC/

I am amazed at the extent of the North Atlantic/Arctic SST anomaly - I
can't remember having seen it so extensive before. Given the world map I
wonder if it means that for some reason the North Atlantic drift is
penetrating deeper and more systematically into the area?
