.... there is an article in the new 'Weather' magazine about contrails
.... have not yet read it, but good timing! Certainly from my
*subjective* experience (i.e., have not got a continuous record to back
this up), contrail-spread cirrus seems more 'obvious' than in the 1960's
and 1970's here in the south of England.

I think it was in another ng that someone commented that night skies
were much clearer immediately after 911 when civil aviation virtually
ceased for a few days.
