Default Warmest day of the Year

It was quite glorious here in Norfolk. Ideal conditions for a 33 mile pootle
round the lanes of Norfolk as part of the EDP Ride for Life. At 8am it was
warm, but the cloud cover stopped it being hot. By lunchtime the cloud had
largely cleared and it got rather warm. Glad my cycle pootling was done in the
morning. Norfolk is remarkably pretty at this time of year - the hawthorn
blossom is out in abundance and its scent filled the lanes as I cycled along.
Quite glorious. I shall have to make some suitable sacrifice to the weather
gods as a thank you ;-)

Cheers.

No sea breeze?

Also 10th consecutive dry day. We missed most of the early May rainfall.

Ground still damp just below the surface here, thanks to copious rain
earlier in the month - you can practically *hear* the grass growing!

Paul Hyett, Cheltenham

A slight sea breeze set in for a while, but was very intermittent. The air
must be very stable. Same on the north coast. At Newquay the sea breeze
didn't set in until mid-afternoon.

Today it was 21 degrees at 10:00!

I was out doing the main shopping trip for the week. hence I was in the
supermarket a *long* time (grrr...). On returning to the car the dashboard
temperature reading for external temp was at 29.5 C at 12.50hrs That's not bad
for Dereham in Norfolk in May even though the reading was probably a tad
enthusiastic.

Cheers.
