Default Sea temps around UK

I have put a colour coded sea temperature image of the seas around the UK
this afternoon at 1553Z. There are some surprisingly warm values in Cardigan
Bay and Morecambe Bay.

Having spent the day at Harlech in North Wales on Sunday, I can confirm that
the sea was indeed surprisingly warm. I even ventured to put my feet in,
which doesn't normally happen unless I have a wetsuit on

Your satpics are observed and appreciated on this side of the North Sea as
well, Bernard, and not only by me.

A contributor to the Belgian news group has already reposted the link to
your sea temperatures image.

It also shows the sea temperature along the Belgian coast, of course. With
the long Ascension Day weekend starting over here on Thursday, that is of
some interest.

Nothing to do with low tides in the afternoon warming the vast tracts of
sand? Morcambe has some 3 miles of beach at spring tides if I remember
correctly.

Or was that 7?
