Interesting medium/high cloud shapes this
afternoon/evening over SW Hampshi

Details:

wind... SSW'ly force 3.
visibility... 30km.
weather... sunny (technically partly cloudy).
cloud... 1 okta AC floccus with virga (flying angels!) at 17000ft.
1 okta CC floccus at 20000ft.
4 oktas CI fibratus (some s****atus) at 27000ft.
air temp... 20.4C.
dew point... 13.7C.
RH... 65%.
barometric pressure... 1019mb.
optical phenomena... circumzenithal arc (good colouring).
faint mock sun (to the right of the sun).

beaufort letters... bc.

cloud... 1 okta AC floccus with virga (flying angels!) at 17000ft.
1 okta CC floccus at 20000ft.
4 oktas CI fibratus (some s****atus) at 27000ft.
LIDAR ceilometer at Chilbolton seems to show returns from these clouds-

unfortunately the vertical radar is U.S
V pretty in Surrey on Sunday.
Ci uncinus observed in SE London this morning,

That's what we had here in Folkestone yesterday. I explained it as ice
crystals falling out of the bottom of the clouds. I'm sure that's what I
read in here a while ago...

Couldn't think of the damn name for the things though.....
